Powerhoof, the studio out of Melbourne, Australia, released the latest content update to their game Crawl. The four player competitive co-operative title has reached version 0.9 in it’s early access state. A half dozen new monsters have been released for the game including the titular “Kevin the Destroyer” have been added in this new update.

The new update includes a few new monsters that players can take control over. Amongst the new creatures are a few interesting choices for names. Birdy McBirdface and Dr. Flappy headline the player voted names. Kevin the Destroyer is the last creature introduced in the update, instilling great terror into new players.

Also included in the update is a new opening to the game’s main mode. Previously when players started a new game a random player or AI was selected to become the first human and the other three were automatically ghosts. Now there is a brief opening cinematic that gives the players a chance to earn the first shot at becoming the human player. Each player is given their weapon and allowed to kill all other players with one hit in order to gain control. When only one player is remaining the game begins in full. Powerhoof has added countless unique voice overs to give the opening scene a different experience each time the player begins a new adventure.
