Today PixelxPixel announced their Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming 2D Action RPG, Guardians of the Rose. The game features a fully open 2D pixel world to explore. PixelxPixel is looking to fund the game at $7,500, with their first goal aimed at $15,000.
Guardians of the Rose looks to take inspiration from the Legend of Zelda series with its sword based action oriented combat. The main protagonist appears out of context in the initial screenshots of the game, supporting a backwards baseball cap and a white t-shirt. The rest of the game has a classic European medieval look with castles, caves, and small towns alongside dragons and other mythical beasts.
The game looks to be launching in May of 2017 on all PC platforms. If the campaigns reaches $80,000 funded they are looking to launch on console and handheld platforms following the initial PC launch.
